Kalamba News Round Up #08

Jun 6, 2020

We’re well into the swing of the new normal at Kalamba as May has been busier than ever.

Our game of the month, Sky Hunters, performed strongly with our partners in its first weeks of release, offering a feature-rich slot adventure where players join the air crew on an epic chase through the clouds for bounty and big wins.

May brought the announcements of more major partnerships, this time with igaming aggregators Groove Gaming and Solid Gaming, adding to the string of content distribution deals secured this year. The collaborations will significantly expand our reach across six continents and raise our brand awareness with the best in the business. Steve Cutler, our CEO, believes that recent game innovations that introduce layers of player engagement to our content, such as the column expansion collection, have been real deal-breakers in our recent partnerships.

Piotr Simon became the newest member of the Kalamba team last month, taking on the role of Product Owner. Piotr, who has substantial industry experience from his time at Game Desire and Yggdrasil, will be a driving force behind the development of our new Remote Gaming Server and promotional tools. He says it’s an exciting time to be joining Kalamba – and he’s right!

There was also cause for celebration in May as we were shortlisted for the “Innovation in Slot Provision” category at the EGR B2B Awards. Although we’re sad the event won’t be going ahead in the physical form this year, we’re looking forward to the virtual ceremony. Fingers crossed we’ll be popping the celebratory champers at home!

It was also a great month for our friends in the streaming world, as Malta and Germany-based Twitch streamer CasinoTest24 won Kalamba’s industry-first competition to co-develop a slot game with our studios. After landing the single biggest win on any of our extensive back catalogue of games, the lucky winner has been invited to work with our team and give their input on a Kalamba title. We can’t wait to see what the collaboration creates.

We’ve kicked off a big-win video series which will be running clips of our game’s biggest giveaways over the next few weeks, while June also promises another belter of a slot title with the release of Griffin’s Quest – so stay tuned!
